Mary Lattimore is a harpist living in Philadelphia. She experiments with her impressive 47-string Lyon and Healy Concert Grand harp and effects creating a mesmerising unique sound.
Her solo debut, “The Withdrawing Room”, was released in 2013 on Desire Path Recordings. In 2014 Lattimore received a prestigious fellowship from the Pew Center for Arts & Heritage — a rare honor given to 12 people every year — and used the funds to take a road trip across America, writing and recording songs at each stop along the way. With her harp and laptop, Lattimore drew inspiration from each location, letting the environments in which she recorded color her work. The result is evocative, delicate and haunting music, Lattimore’s harp at times bright and skipping, other times distant and hazy, swathed in gauzy delay. Lattimore has performed and recorded with such great artists as Meg Baird, Thurston Moore, Sharon Van Etten, Jarvis Cocker, Kurt Vile, Steve Gunn, Ed Askew and Fursaxa.
Sit back, relax and let the hypnotising harp melodies carry you away to an impressive dreamscape.
